I think that you would agree with this statement: Reminders come from various places. For me, recently, I was reminded through Huffington Post, an unexpected place. I hope that you’ll click the link and enjoy the article. It’s entitled, “The Day I Stopped Saying ‘Hurry Up.'” It cut through me. Ever had that happen? For me, it was one of those moments when God seemed to say, “I had this article planned for you, because you really needed this reminder.”
Anyway, I was preparing my message for last Sunday while I was reading this article. Incidentally, it was on love and I intended to allude to 1 Corinthians 13:4, a text that is typically read for wedding ceremonies. It reads, “Love is patient and kind” (1 Corinthians 13:4). In the end, that article and 1 Corinthians 13:4 created a sort of perfect storm for me. God spoke. I listened. He said,
Be patient, especially with the ones you love.
Be kind, especially when rudeness could be excused.
Anyone can hurry, be impatient, be unkind. Don’t be anyone. Be the one I want you to be.
I said amen . . .
